Friday will bring us the second batch of March Madness’s Sweet 16 games. All four matchups are highly anticipated, but these two are deemed to be a couple of notches higher, as it features a lot of intriguing qualities.
These two ultra-talented squads have a lot of motivation in them. For the Wildcats, they are eager to get some revenge over that 97-92 loss at their home floor months back, where the Bruins shot 53.3 percent from the field and had six guys score in double figures.
As for the Bruins, they will be out there to prove that they are for real. They’ve become very polarizing in the past few weeks after showing signs of being a “pure offense, zero defense” type of team and LaVarr Ball – Lonzo Ball’s father – spewing a string of outrageous claims.
Kentucky will boast one of the best tandems in the nation in Malik Monk and De’Aron Fox, while UCLA will bring in arguably the most explosive offense in college basketball.
We should see an evenly matched battle. It seems like they mirror each other’s styles and personnel, especially on defense, as both are top eight in Kenpom.com’s defensive efficiency rankings.
Led by Kevaughn Allen and Devin Robinson, Florida has four guys that can be dangerous from various areas on the floor. The same can be said about Wisconsin – Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig are offensive threats and their wide tournament experience should factor in the contest. Their man in the middle, the all-around Ethan Happ, is sure to have an interesting clash with the Gators’ thin-yet-competitive front court.
