Kansas City Royals vs. Cleveland Indians (7:05 PM ET)

Line: Kansas City Royals (+101) at Cleveland Indians (-111); total: 7.0 – see all MLB lines

[sc:MLB240banner ]A couple of Tiger losses have brought the Kansas City Royals back to within just one game of the NL Central lead. Excellent rookie pitcher Yordano Ventura takes to the mound tonight for the Royals, who could grab a share of the lead if results go their way. The Royals are 8-2 in Ventura’s last 10 starts.

Meanwhile, the Indians counter with Danny Salazar, who has been erratic this month. Sandwiched in between a complete game, eight-hitter against the Tigers and a 7.1-inning, one-run outing against the Astros are two starts where he went a combined 10.1 innings with nine earned runs. The total has gone under in the Indians’ last three games vs. the Royals in Cleveland.

Writer’s Prediction

Ventura leads the Royals to victory in Cleveland.

San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (10:00 PM ET)

Line: San Francisco Giants (+130) at Los Angeles Dodgers (-140); total: 6.0 – see all MLB lines

Zack Greinke

After emerging victorious in 13 innings against the Dodgers earlier today, the San Francisco Giants improved to 9-2 in their last 11 visits to Dodger Stadium. The Giants, who are still battling the Pirates for homefield advantage in the NL wild card playoff, will look to extend that run with ace Madison Bumgarner. The Giants have won all of the lefty’s last six starts.

On the other side, the Dodgers will have to wait awhile longer before clinching a second-straight NL West title. The Dodgers are still 3.5 games up on the Giants with five games remaining, with Zack Greinke set to start. In Greinke’s six career starts (one for Milwaukee and five in LA) against the Giants, Greinke’s teams are an immaculate 6-0.

Writer’s Prediction

Bumgarner pitches a gem as the Giants win again in LA.
