The Angels will look to extend their winning streak to three games when they take on the New York Yankees in the opening game of their three-game set. Starting for the Angels tonight is C.J. Wilson (5-6, 3.92 ERA). He was atrocious in his last start for the Angels, giving up seven runs on eight hits in just 3.1 innings of duty in Los Angeles’ 13-3 loss to the Houston Astros.
The Yankees, on the other hand, will counter with veteran left-hander C.C. Sabathia (3-7, 5.65 ERA). The Yankees have won three of their last five games with Sabathia as their starter. He struggled, though, in his last start, allowing six runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings of work in New York’s 11-6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.
