Despite losing a bunch of games lately, the Houston Astros remain comfortable ahead of everyone else in the American League West division and still own the second shortest odds to win the World Series with a price of +550. Houston, however, could have their hands full against Zack Greinke and the Arizona Diamondbacks later tonight. That and a showdown between the Baltimore Oriole and the Seattle Mariners make up our pair of best games to bet on today.

McHugh was battered in his last start, allowing seven earned runs on nine hits in 5.1 innings of a 7-1 road loss to the Chicago White Sox on Aug. 9. Over at the Arizona side, Zack Greinke (13-5, 3.14 ERA) tries to get back from a rare home loss. Greinke suffered his first home setback of the season in a 3-2 loss to the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Aug. 9, allowing three earned runs on four hits in 6.2 frames of action. Greinke is sporting a still formidable 10-1 record and 3.14 ERA in 13 starts.
Writer’s Prediction
The Astros (+140) win, 6-4.
Baltimore Orioles vs. Seattle Mariners (10:10 PM ET)
Line: Baltimore Orioles (-115) vs. Seattle Mariners (+105); total: 9.5 – view all MLB lines
Baltimore begins its last stop of a lengthy road trip in Seattle, as the Orioles send Kevin Gausman (8-8, 5.21 ERA) to the mound for Game 1. After a streak of four straight starts in which he allowed just no more than a run in each of the games during that stretch, Gausman fell back to Earth, when he surrendered four earned runs on eight hits in 5.1 innings of a 5-1 road loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Aug. 9. Gausman is 4-5 with a 5.86 ERA in 12 road starts thus far this season. The Mariners, on the other hand, have former Oriole Yovani Gallardo working the hill tonight. Gallardo (5-7, 5.38 ERA) is coming off a 4.1-inning start in Oakland on Aug. 9, yielding three earned runs on six hits in a 6-3 loss.
Writer’s Prediction
The Orioles (-115) win 4-3.
