Line: Cleveland Cavaliers (-4.5) vs. Dallas Mavericks (+4.5); total: 207.0 – view all NBA lines
The Cleveland Cavaliers stretched their unbeaten run to two games with a commanding 107-91 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. Kyrie Irving scored a game-high 29 points for the Cavs who moved 3.5 games clear of the Toronto Raptors for the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
They will look to sustain the momentum of that huge win when they lock horns with the Dallas Mavericks tonight. The Cavs will fancy their chances of doing just that as they have fared extremely well against the Mavericks of late. The Cavs have won each of their last four games against the Mavs. Cleveland thrashed Dallas, 128-90, in their first meeting this season. The Mavs, however, are fresh off a stunning 105-101 upset over the San Antonio Spurs.
The Cavs are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 road games against the Mavs.
Writer’s Prediction
Cleveland (-4.5) wins, 102-95.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Phoenix Suns (10:30 PM ET)
Line: Memphis Grizzlies (-3.5) vs. Phoenix Suns (+3.5); total: 208.5 – view all NBA lines
The Memphis Grizzlies returned to winning ways Sunday with a thrilling 102-95 victory over the Utah Jazz. Three players scored in double-figures for the Grizzlies who improved to 28-21 this season. Zach Randolph showed why he is still so valuable to the Grizzlies, scoring a season-high 28 points. Z-Bo is in the midst of his best month of the season, averaging 15.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game this January.
Up next for the Grizzlies is a clash with the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix’s downward spiral continued on Saturday with a gut-wrenching 123-112 loss to the Denver Nuggets. It was a disappointing defeat for the Grizzlies who are now embroiled in a three-game losing skid. The Suns will look to turn things around at Talking Stick Resort Arena, where they are just 8-14 this season.
The Grizzlies are 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games against the Suns.
Writer’s Prediction
Memphis (-3.5) wins, 98-93.
