Best Games to Bet on Today: San Antonio Spurs vs. Cleveland Cavaliers & Philadelphia Flyers vs. New York Rangers – November 19, 2014

There’s an exciting night of explosive—and potentially profitable—sports action ahead. In the NBA, LeBron James faces the Spurs again for the first time since returning to Cleveland, and for the first time since San Antonio embarrassed the Miami Heat in last season’s Finals. Later on, the Philadelphia Flyers take on their Metropolitan Division rivals the New York Rangers for NHL Wednesday Night Rivalry.

Read on for more on the best games to bet on today and check out our preview for Thursday Night Football’s Chiefs vs. Raiders in a blockbuster AFC West showdown.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (7:00 PM ET)

Line: San Antonio Spurs (+2.5) at Cleveland Cavaliers (-2.5); total 202.5view these lines

The Cavs are still developing chemistry and have been up and down this season. They were upset by the struggling Denver Nuggets 106-97 just two days removed from a 127-94 demolition of the Atlanta Hawks. Still, Cleveland’s Big 3 of LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving all scored at least 20 points each against the Nuggets.

[sc:NBA240banner ]The Cavs face another tough visitor tonight in the defending NBA champion Spurs. After a slow start to the season, the Spurs are finally starting to round into shape. They’ve won and covered four out of their last five games.

San Antonio’s trio of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker doesn’t seem to be slowing down either. Duncan has recorded double-doubles in five of the seven games he played, Ginobili has averaged 14.25 points off the bench in the Spurs’ last four road games, and Parker is sporting a hot hand shooting .508 from the field while leading the league in three-point field goal percentage (.667) this season.

Writer’s Prediction

The Spurs’ (+2.5) seamless ball movement, deep bench and championship experience will be too much for the inconsistent Cavs.

Philadelphia Flyers vs. New York Rangers (8:00 PM ET)

Line:Philadelphia Flyers (+115) at New York Rangers (-135); total 5.5view these lines

Jakub Voracek

The Rangers have won eight straight regular season home games against the Philadelphia Flyers, outscoring them 31-9 in those games. But fast forward to this year and the Rangers are looking ripe for the picking. They’ve lost five of their last six home games and have been outscored 20-12, opening the door for a nifty Philadelphia upset.

The Flyers have been lights out this season with 3.2 goals per game. They should be able to exploit New York’s tendency to concede goals (3.0 goals-against average), especially with the league’s points-leader (27) Jakub Voracek creating outstanding scoring opportunities. Voraceck has recorded 19 points (five goals and 14 assists) in a 10-game points steak. The Flyers do, however, rank among the worst teams in goaltending giving up 3.2 goals per game, 26th in the league.

Writer’s Prediction

The Flyers will be all over the Rangers’ net come game time. While the Flyers may take the upset, I like the total to go over 5.5.
