Line: San Antonio Spurs (-9) vs. Milwaukee Bucks (+9); total: 192.0– view all NBA lines
[sc:NBA240banner ]The San Antonio Spurs are still undefeated at home this season. They successfully maintained their perfect run in the AT&T center and stretched their four-game winning streak to five at the expense the Houston Rockets, 121-103, on Saturday night. Starring in that game was the trio of LaMarcus Aldridge, Kawhi Leonard and Boris Diaw, who combined for 66 points and 23 boards in total. The Spurs will now try to sustain their current momentum when they pay the Milwaukee Bucks a visit tonight.
Speaking of the Bucks, they’ll be entering with some serious momentum as well. The Bucks are fresh off two-straight victories over the Pacers and the T-Wolves, during which the pair of Khris Middleton and Greg Monroe provided solid contributions. In that short stretch, the two are averaging 23.0 PPG and 21.0 PPG respectively. But the Bucks could have their work cut out for them opposite the Spurs, who are only allowing a league-low of 89.0 PPG this year.
San Antonio has won the previous seven meetings with the Bucks, going 6-1 ATS in that span. Milwaukee, on the other hand, is 7-3 SU and ATS in its last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Spurs (-9) continue showing off their unselfish style of play and stifling defense by beating the Bucks, 91-75.
Charlotte Hornets vs. Golden State Warriors (10:30 PM ET)
Line: Charlotte Hornets vs. Golden State Warriors– view all NBA lines
The struggle is becoming real in Charlotte. The Hornets have been on the downward spiral lately, losing their past three games with the latest one at the hands of Oklahoma City, who beat them, 109-90. Despite the setback, their star point guard and leading-scorer in Kemba Walker (19.2 PPG) had a noteworthy performance of 32 points, three rebounds and five assists, while shooting the rock at 41. 7 percent. He’ll try to stay hot and hopefully help his team end its losing woes when they take on the reigning champions.
As for the Warriors, they are coming off a thrilling 111-108 victory opposite the Nuggets. But in that game, Stephen Curry only scored a season-low of five points with four assists as he re-injured his left leg during the final minutes of the first half. Fortunately, the Warriors still had Klay Thompson and Draymond Green to help them squeak out the win.
Thompson, who’s the second-leading scorer in the team with 20.1 PPG this season, contributed 26 points on 11-of-27 shooting and had seven rebounds. Green, meanwhile, shined brightest with his sixth triple-double of year: 29 points, 17 boards and 14 assists.
With Curry expected to miss some time again, both Thompson and Green ought to step their game up once again and take charge in leading the Warriors until their MVP returns. The two should be able to succeed in doing so versus a Milwaukee defense that’s giving up 100.1 PPG this season.
Charlotte is 3-7 SU and 4-6 ATS in its past 10 road games. Golden State, on the other hand, is 5-2 SU and 4-3 ATS in its previous seven encounters with the Hornets.
