San Francisco Giants vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (7:05 PM ET)

Line: San Francisco Giants (-110) at Pittsburgh Pirates (EVEN); total 8.0view all MLB lines

The Pirates took the series opener with a tight 1-0 victory, and the Giants responded with a 15-4 shellacking in the second game. Now, it’ll be up to San Francisco’s Jeff Samardzija (8-4, 3.14 ERA) and Pittsburgh’s Francisco Liriano (4-7, 5.03 ERA) to take the lead once more.

Samardzija has been pretty solid recently, allowing just three earned runs in his last two starts over 13.2 innings. He even had a complete game in his latest road outing, limiting Tampa Bay to just one earned run on a homer in a 5-1 victory. The Giants starter hasn’t been too solid against the Pirates, being 0-4 in his last seven outings against them. Samardzija is allowing the Pirates to hit .273 against him in his career.

On the other hand, Liriano has been superb against San Francisco going 4-1 with a 3.07 ERA in five career starts. However, the Pirates southpaw has been horrible this month of June with a 0-3 record and a 6.60 ERA in three starts. He’ll need to shake off his horrible performances considering how Pittsburgh has struggled to score runs this series.

Writer’s Prediction

Liriano flashes some good stuff as he leads the Pirates (-110) to a tight 4-3 victory.

Washington Nationals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (10:00 PM ET)

Line: Washington Nationals (+110) at Los Angeles Dodgers (-120); total 7.5view all MLB lines

Get ready for the end of the three-game set between the Nationals and the Dodgers. Los Angeles has already won the series after a dominant 4-1 win Monday night and a tight 3-2 come-from-behind victory a day later. This primetime showdown lacks a marquee pitching matchup, but could end up being one hell of a high-scoring game. The Nats put Joe Ross (6-4, 3.13 ERA) on the mound. The Nats have won his last five starts, but he’s been pretty vulnerable, allowing 13 earned runs and four homers over those outings.

The Dodgers put rookie Julio Urias (0-2, 4.50 ERA) whose inexperience has been highlighted in his five starts this season. The Mexican has yet to complete six innings in his first go around MLB, while allowing 11 earned runs in five starts. However, the 19-year-old is coming in hot after pitching for five shutout innings in his last start at home against Milwaukee on Friday. He didn’t factor in the decision of a 3-2 victory.

Writer’s Prediction

The Nats (+110) get the win after they chase out Urias early.
