College Basketball News and Previews

Syracuse Orange vs. Louisville Cardinals (2:00 PM ET)

Line: Syracuse Orange (+10) at Louisville Cardinals (-10) – view all NCAA basketball lines

Syracuse helped its bid to seal a spot in the NCAA tournament with a 78-75 home win over No. 10 Duke. But the Orange could do with another win against a top-10 opponent like No. 7 Louisville. Syracuse gave the Cards a good fight in the Carrier Dome a couple weeks ago, but fell 76-72 in overtime. They might have a much tougher time on the road, where they’re just 2-8 straight-up and against the spread this season.

Meanwhile, No. 7 Louisville had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 74-63 road loss to UNC. But the Cards have been a much better team at home. They’ve won their last six home games while averaging 84 points per game. They’ve also dominated Syracuse at home, going 8-2 (8-1-1 ATS) in 10 head-to-head meetings.

Writer’s Prediction: Louisville (-10) gets the dominant 81-66 win over Syracuse.

Utah Jazz vs. Washington Wizards (5:00 PM ET)

Line: Utah Jazz (+2.5) vs. Washington Wizards (-2.5) – view all NBA lines

The Utah Jazz returned from the All-Star break with a big 109-95 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. All-Star Gordon Hayward continued his stellar play this month with 29 points on 11-of-17 shooting. Hayward is averaging nearly 26 points in February. George Hill is also playing some very good basketball, and has scored 19 points in each of his last two games.

They’ll face the Washington Wizards, who had their four-game win streak snapped in a 120-112 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. That was despite 40 points from Bradley Beal and 29 points, 14 assists, and 8 rebounds from John Wall. Newly-acquired Bojan Bogdanovic had just 2 points off the bench in his Wizards debut. The Wizards will now look to bounce back at home, where they are an incredible 19-1 (16-4 ATS) in their last 20 games.

Writer’s Prediction: The Wizards (-2.5) win again at home, 103-95.
