Writer’s Prediction
The Cardinals stop the Rays’ winning streak and in the process end their string of back-to-back defeats.
Baltimore Orioles vs. Los Angeles Angels (10:05 PM ET)
Line: Baltimore Orioles (+139) at Los Angeles Angels (-154); total: 8.0 – view all MLB lines
The Baltimore Orioles have started the second half where they left off before the All-Star break as they are just a win away from sweeping the struggling Los Angeles Angels.
The Orioles are now four games ahead of the Yankees and the Blue Jays for the AL East lead, and will send Chris Tillman (7-5, 4.03 ERA) to the mound to face the Angels’ Jered Weaver (10-6, 3.43 ERA).
Tillman has pitched well in his past four starts, going at least 5 2/3 innings and allowing just 10 earned runs in all of them but he unfortunately has not been rewarded with a victory in any of those games. Weaver, on the other hand, has gone undefeated in his last six starts, going 3-0 during that stretch.
Baltimore has an impressive 7-3 record in its last 10 road games, while the Angels on the other hand have encountered difficulty when facing the Orioles at home. They have lost their last four games against Baltimore when playing at Angel Stadium.
You can read a full preview of the game here.
Writer’s Prediction
Weaver’s pitching will keep the Orioles’ bats silent and the Angels will save themselves from a three-game sweep.
