Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers (8:10 PM ET)

Line: Toronto Blue Jays (-133) at Texas Rangers (+123); total: 9.5view all MLB lines

The Texas Rangers grabbed a commanding 2-0 lead in the ALDS with a thrilling 6-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays Friday. Backup infielder Hanser Alberto was the star of the show for the Rangers, singling home the go-ahead run in the 14th inning. The underdog Rangers will look to complete the series sweep later tonight when they take on the Blue Jays in Game 3 of their American League Division Series at Globe Life Park.

[sc:MLB240banner ]Starting for the Rangers in this all-important game is Martin Perez. In 14 starts this season, he has pitched to a 4.46 ERA and a 3.40 FIP. Perez was feasted upon this season by right-handed batters though, who hit .300/.352/.425 against him. That’s great news for Toronto’s top hitters who are mired in a deep slump in this series. Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Troy Tulowitzki have recorded just five hits in 25 at-bats in this ALDS.

Pitching for the Blue Jays in this do-or-die contest is Marco Estrada. He threw a career-high 181 innings this season, holding opposing hitters to an American League-low .202 batting average. The Blue Jays have won five of their last seven games with Estrada as their starting pitcher.

The Blue Jays are 8-2 in their last 10 road games against the Rangers.

San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants (8:30 PM ET)

Line: San Francisco 49ers (+7) at New York Giants (-7); total: 43.0view all NFL lines

Eli Manning

The New York Giants (2-2) moved into a three-way tie atop the NFC East with an impressive 24-10 victory over Buffalo on Sunday. Eli Manning threw three touchdown passes to lead the Giants to their second consecutive win. They will look to stretch their unbeaten run to three games when they take on the reeling San Francisco 49ers at MetLife Stadium later tonight.

The 49ers crashed to their third consecutive defeat with a 17-3 home loss to Green Bay last week. Colin Kaepernick struggled mightily in that loss, racking up just 152 yards and throwing one interception. He has a league-worst 25.7 passer rating in the last two weeks while totaling just 227 passing yards and five interceptions. Kaepernick has now failed to throw a touchdown pass in three of his last four games.

The Giants are 5-2 in their last seven meetings with the 49ers.
