The Cleveland Cavaliers preserved their unbeaten start to the playoffs with a stunning 115-84 victory over the Toronto Raptors in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday night. Kyrie Irving and LeBron James combined for 51 points for the red-hot Cavs who improved to 9-0 this postseason. The star duo shot an incredible 22-of-30 from the field in the opener.

It’s back to the drawing board for the Raptors who dropped to 1-10 all-time in Game 1 situations, including losses in each of their last eight series openers. The onus then is on Kyle Lowry to step up his play tonight. He scored just eight points on a woeful 4-of-14 shooting from the floor on Tuesday. That kind of offensive performance simply won’t do against a high-octane Cleveland attack that’s averaging 108.6 points per game this postseason, second-best in the NBA in these playoffs.

The Cavs are 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in their last five home games against the Raptors. They are pegged at +115 to win this year’s NBA championship.

Writer’s Prediction

Cleveland (12.5) wins, 106-91, to take a commanding 2-0 series lead.

St. Louis Blues vs. San Jose Sharks (9:00 PM ET)

Line: St. Louis Blues (+125) at San Jose Sharks (-145); total: 5.0view all NHL lines

The San Jose Sharks will head home with momentum on their side after recording an emphatic 4-0 win over the St. Louis Blues in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals Tuesday night. Brent Burns was the star of the show for the Sharks who leveled their best-of-seven series with the Blues at one game apiece. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound defenseman scored San Jose’s first two power-play goals of this series on Tuesday.

For St. Louis to regain control of the series, they will need to up the ante on the defensive end. Brian Elliott, in particular, had a horrible time between the pipes in Game 2, allowing three goals on just 23 shots. The Blues will also need to do a much better job on their power play opportunities if they are to grab the victory in Game 3. Ken Hitchcock’s men went 0-for-6 with the man advantage in Game 2.

The Blues are 7-3 in their last 10 road games against the Sharks. They are priced at +260 to win this year’s Stanley Cup.

Writer’s Prediction

San Jose (-145) wins, 3-2, to grab a 2-1 series lead.
