Betting on the Boston Celtics (+6.5)

Who needs Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward when the Celtics are playing just fine without the two stars? Once again, the Celtics proved they have enough tools in their drawers to solve Milwaukee with a victory in Game 2 to get a 2-0 lead in the series. Terry Rozier and Jaylen Brown delivered for the second game in a row for Boston with Rozier manufacturing 23 points and Brown coming up with 30 markers. Rozier is averaging 23 points in the series, while Brown is pacing the Boston in these playoffs with 25.0 points per game.  Also saving the Celtics in the postseason is their three-point shooting. They hit 13 3-pointers in Game 2 and 11 in Game 1.

The Celtics, who are shooting 42.1 percent from deep this postseason, are 6-2 SU and 7-1 ATS in their last eight trips to Milwaukee.

Betting on the Milwaukee Bucks (-6.5)

It must be thoroughly frustrating for the Bucks that they are failing to capitalize on a shorthanded and superstar-less Celtics squad in this series. They mostly have themselves to blame, however. In Game 2, they repeatedly shot at their own foot with 15 turnovers while Boston only had seven. In Game 1, the Bucks had 20 errors. Milwaukee’s miscues negate almost all the good things the Bucks have done in the series among them is the quality production of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who followed up his 35-point performance in Game 1 with a 30-point outing on Tuesday. Khris Middleton also has been playing well in the series with 31 and 25 points in Games 1 and 2, respectively. The Bucks would be in a better position to win if Eric Bledsoe gets back to form after scoring only 12 in Game 2.

The Bucks are 3-1 SU in their last four home games.

Writer’s Prediction:

Milwaukee wins, 110-104.
