Betting on the Carolina Panthers (+11)

Regular Season Record: 5-8

The Panthers are still winless since Cam Newton began to take over the starting duties in his second stint with the team. The good old times for Newton in Carolina are long gone, and the Panthers got reminded of that again in Week 14’s 29-21 home loss to the Atlanta Falcons. After shocking the Arizona Cardinals with a road win in Week 10, the Panthers have gone 0-3. Still, Newton showed flashed some of his vintage old self when he rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries against Atlanta. Buffalo is also on a downward spiral, so this seems to be a good time for the Panthers to catch the Bills. Together with Chubba Hubbard, Newton can look to run the ball a lot against Buffalo’s defense that has surrendered a total of 359 rushing yards in its last two games.

The Panthers are 8-1 against the spread in their last 9 games as a road underdog.

Bet on the Carolina Panthers

Betting on the Buffalo Bills (-11)

Regular Season Record: 7-6

The Bills need a break, and they could get one in Week 15 against the struggling Panthers, While both Buffalo and Carolina have not been winning games of late, one could say that the Bills have more promise and balance than the Panthers. The Bills put up a gallant stand in Week 14’s 33-27 overtime loss to the defending Super Bowl champions, while the Panthers lost to going-nowhere Falcons. At this point in their careers, Josh Allen is also the better quarterback than Newton. Allen passed for 308 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 36/54 completions against the Buccaneers. He also rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. On the season, Buffalo is sixth in the NFL with 27.9 points per game. It also has sturdy pass protection that’s fourth overall in quarterback sack rate.

The Bills are 6-1-1 against the spread versus a team with a losing record.
