Carolina Panthers vs Chicago Bears Predictions, Picks, Odds and Betting Preview – NFL Week 7 2017

The Carolina Panthers have a narrow one game lead in the NFC South. If they want to maintain that buffer they will have to keep the Chicago Bears at bay. The Bears however, seems to be coming out of hibernation after a QB change back in Week 5, and are sniffing out a victory over the Panthers here in Week 7.

Betting on the Carolina Panthers (4-2)

Point Spread: (-3.5)

Carolina has been one of the best road teams this season as they are unbeaten on the road, but have yet to bring that same talent to Carolina as they hold a 1-2 record at home this season. In their week 6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Carolina struggled to stop 2nd-year quarterback Carson Wentz has he threw for 209 yards and three touchdowns.

Even though Carolina struggled to slow down Wentz, they have a better opportunity against the rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky who has yet to have a solid game in the NFL. With the defense ready to stop another underperformed NFL quarterback, Cam Newton is ready to showcase what a real NFL quarterback looks like.

In week 6, Newton threw the ball for 52 times with connecting on 28 of those throws for 239 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. On the season, Newton has thrown for 1,476 yards, nine touchdowns and eight interceptions with rushing for 161 yards and another three touchdowns.

Betting on the Chicago Bears (2-4)

Point Spread: (+3.5)

The future is here Chicago, as the 2nd overall pick, rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky got his first NFL win as a member of the Chicago Bears. With quarterback Mike Glennon struggling to start the season, it was time to unleash the rookie and he has brought a new spark to the Chicago Bears offense.

It will take some time for Trubisky to settle in Chicago, like Jared Goff and Carson Wentz have done with their respected teams, but in the meantime Chicago has a new life. In his second game Trubisky, hit just eight of 16 passes for 113 yards and a TD, but also didn’t throw any picks.

Coming into this contest, the Bears offense is ranked third in rushing with 136 rushing yards per game as it will slowly open up the passing game for the rookie QB. Chicago is scoring 17.5 points per game as they are allowing 21.6 points per game.

Writer’s Prediction:

Carolina is unbeaten on the road as Chicago can barely put on 17 points with a rookie quarterback. Newton leads the way for a victory. Pick: Panthers (-3.5)
