Another week, another loss for the Bears, who suffered a 35-13 defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills at home last Saturday. Justin Fields passed for 119 yards and a touchdown on 15/23 completions while running back David Montgomery rushed for 62 yards on 15 carries. There weren’t a lot of positive takeaways for the Bears from that game, but they should be more competitive in Week 17 against the Lions, whom Chicago nearly defeated back in Week 10 at home. While the Bears lost that game versus Detroit, 31-30, Fields was electric on the field. He passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two more in that contest. He’s definitely looking to torch Detroit’s defense anew, with the Lions still last in the NFL in scoring defense.
The Over is 8-2 in the Bears’ last 10 games overall.
The Lions got tripped up by the Carolina Panthers last Saturday on the road, as they lost to Sam Darnold and company, 37-23. Still, the Panthers’ high-0flying offense was still on display in that contest, with Jared Goff passing for 355 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions on 35/42 completions. The run game was not as productive for Detroit, but that could change in Week 17 versus Chicago, which allowed two rushing touchdowns to the Lions back in Week 10. Amon-Ra St. Brown had 119 receiving yards on 10 catches and 11 targets in the first meeting with Chicago.
The Lions are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games overall.
