Cincinnati Bengals vs Buffalo Bills Predictions, Picks, Odds and Betting Preview – NFL Preseason – August 26, 2018

The Cincinnati Bengals will march into Buffalo next weekend for a road date against the Buffalo Bills. Andy Dalton may start the game for Cincy, but he won’t get the chance to duel with his former backup in AJ McCarron, who is now with the Bills, because of an unfortunate reason you’d read about below.

The Bengals have been a strong performer this preseason, but will they be as good in the regular season? They are +1,000 to win the AFC North, while the Bills are +1,400 to win the AFC East.

Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (2-0 Preseason Record)

How about them Bengals? Cincy relied on its fantastic passing attack and an unforgiving pass rush to take down the Dallas Cowboys in a 21-13 road win last week and remain undefeated in this preseason. Jeff Driskel passed 119 passing yards on 10-of-16 completions to go with a touchdown, while four Bengals had at least a reception and 26 receiving yards against the Cowboys. That could get better, as Andy Dalton may be set to play a big chunk of time this coming Sunday. Dalton, who barely played in  the Dallas game, went 6 of 8 for 103 passing yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in a 30-27 win over the Bengals in Week 1 of the preseason. The Bengals made it hard for Dallas’ passing game to take flight, as they sacked Dak Prescott and company five times.

Cincinnati is 3-2 ATS in its last five preseason games.

Betting on the Buffalo Bills (1-1 Preseason Record)

What must quarterback AJ McCarron be feeling right now? Given a great chance to become a starter after spending his first few years in the NFL as Dalton’s understudy in Cincinnati, McCarron signed was in the running to be Buffalo’s starter – until he sustained a hairline shoulder fracture during last week’s 19-17 road win over the Cleveland Browns. With McCarron out for the foreseeable future, it’s all up to rookie Josh Allen and Nathan Peterman to prove who among them should inherit Tyrod Taylor’s job. Running back LeSean McCoy could also see increased snaps or may be rested instead by Buffalo. The star tailback had 11 rushing yards on four carries against Cleveland.

Buffalo has covered the spread in two of its last two preseason outings.

Writer’s Prediction

Cincinnati wins, 28-20.
