After failing to get their 10th win of the season in Week 14, the Cleveland Browns will try again this coming Sunday, as they face the New York Giants. The Giants are still in the thick of the race for the top spot in the NFC East, so expect them to go all out in this game.

Yeah, sure, the Browns’ defense was toyed by Lamar Jackson in their 47-42 home loss to the Baltimore Ravens last Monday, but should they really worry about being embarrassed the same way by…Daniel Jones? The Giants’ quarterback is galaxies apart in terms of talent from Jackson. After getting sacked six times for a loss of 52 yards by the Cardinals, Jones can’t be overconfident of his chances against the Browns. Cleveland has 34 sacks on the season. The Browns are also 11th in the league in terms of defensive sack percentage with a 6.67 percent rate. While their defense has been off of late, the Browns’ offense is booming with Baker Mayfield having quite a fantastic stretch. Mayfield has 935 passing yards and eight touchdowns against just an interception in the Browns’ last three games.
The over is 3-0 in the Browns’ last three games away from home.
Betting on the New York Giants (+4.5)
Regular Season Record: 5-8
The Giants finally took a stumble after a solid four-game win streak, as they lost to the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday at home, 26-7. The Giants had a hard time moving the chains, as they only came up with 159 total yards. Daniel Jones didn’t look like he’s 100 percent healthy in that game, and the Giants know it. However, with another week of rest, Jones should feel better about his body when he and the Giants take on Cleveland. The Browns’ defense has been horrendous of late, and the Giants must be excited over the prospect of abusing it. The Browns have allowed 35.7 points over their last three games. That’s the worst mark in the NFL over that same stretch. Also consider that the Browns might be a bit fatigued due, as they are playing Sunday on a short week. On defense, Giants safety Jabrill Peppers could have a revenge game of his own against his former team after making quite a noise on that end of the field last Sunday. Peppers had 13 total tackles (8 solo) against the Cardinals.
The Giants are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Browns win, 27-24.
