Betting on the Florida Gators:
Defensively, it looks like not much has changed for the No. 17 Gators since last season when their stifling defense ranked fifth overall in the nation. So far this season, Florida is fourth in FBS in allowed points limiting opponents to an average of 12.2 PPG. Arkansas was the latest to experience how excruciatingly hard it is to score against the Gators when it bled for 10 points as against Florida’s 30. It was the Gators’ third straight win after falling to the Hurricanes last September.
Injuries have haunted the Gators’ lineup but none bigger than that of Jeff Driskel who suffered a broken leg against Tennessee, which needed a season-ending surgery. Shot to the quarterbacking limelight is junior Tyler Murphy who is slowly but surely making sure that the Gators won’t miss Driskel that much. In the game against Kentucky, Murphy completed his first 13 pass attempts and finished with a 15-of-18 line for 156 yards to lead the Gators to a 24-7 victory.
The Gators are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games. They are undefeated so far in the SEC and top the list together with Georgia with a 3-0 SU conference record.
Against the spread, Florida has covered 6 of their last 8 games including their last in Commonwealth Stadium in Kentucky as 11-point favorites.

Betting on the LSU Tigers:
Les Miles’ Tigers were quite a defensive force last season finishing 12th in the nation. But losing four defensive stalwarts in the offseason is too much for LSU to recreate or match the same off-the-ball tenacity and success – something that their current 52nd ranked defense would validate.
Forget about the Tigers’ defense, they have their offense on standby to will them to victory. Hiring former NFL offensive coordinator Cam Cameron in the offseason has been reaping LSU dividends since the season began. With Cameron at the offensive helm, the Tigers are boasting one of their best scoring seasons in school history tallying an average of 45.5 PPG, ninth in the nation. Cameron has ignited the play of QB Zach Mettenberger, a revelation this season, who is fourth overall in the FBS and best in the SEC in Passer Efficiency with a 190.1 mark.
Tiger Stadium is one of the hardest places for visitors as the Tigers are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games. Speaking of the offensive-minded Tigers, LSU is 6-0 OVER in their last 6 games overall.
