The Broncos are coming off yet another loss. They suffered a 22-16 overtime defeat at the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders at home in Week 11. It is becoming more and more unlikely that they will make the playoffs, but they should still be competitive in Week 12 against the Panthers, who have a worse record than them. Plus, Denver’s defense is consistently showing it can handle the job on its end, notwithstanding the broken coverage that led to Davante Adams’ game-winning touchdown against the Broncos in Week 12. So far this season, Denver is allowing just 17.1 points per game –third in the NFL overall.
The Under is 5-0 in the Broncos’ last five Week 12 games.
Betting on the Carolina Panthers (+2.5)
Regular Season Record: 3-8
Baker Mayfield imploded anew for the Panthers, as he got picked twice and sacked four times in a 13-3 road loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12. However, the Panthers’ offensive line can shoulder the blame for Mayfield’s terrible numbers. But up against a team like the Broncos, Mayfield and the Panthers should be able to put together a much more coherent performance. Like the Broncos, Carolina struggles offensively, but there are some talents who can surprise. Take for example Terrace Marshall Jr., who has emerged as one of the top targets in the Panthers’ passing attack. Denver has been repeatedly exposed this season. The Panthers can continue that trend this coming weekend.
The Panthers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games.
