We’re less than a week away before we, the people of the United States of America, decide who gets to lead our beloved country for the next four years.
We’re probably not alone in thinking that this election period has been a roller-coaster ride of emotions that has somehow further divided our nation like never before. At the heart of the matter is none other than Donald Trump, who has unashamedly taken the media by storm with his quick-snap remarks that have made him more of either a douchebag or a spirited leader for a new America – depending on who you ask, of course.
Then again, we here at TopBet would rather turn all this socio-political turmoil into some sweet betting opportunities, and that’s what we’re about to deliver. Let’s take a look below at how each of the remaining presidential candidates stack up in the eyes of the oddsmakers in order for you to place some stakes on the action before heading for the polls on Tuesday.

2016 US Presidential Elections Odds Update: The Donald’s Stock Has Fallen
Betting on Donald Trump (+260)
Can we really blame Trump supporters for siding with The Donald throughout his entire campaign that has seen more lows than highs?
Don’t get us wrong; we believe that Trump clearly has a sound plan in mind for turning America around. He wants to bring back more jobs to the American people on the very ground of his motherland and boost America’s economy back to its glory days. He even has the right bravado hardened temperament that can surely strengthen the current state of our country’s national security.
However… at what expense? Did Trump need to take it as far as saying that Muslims and basically every immigrant be denied those same job opportunities and be treated differently from full-blooded Americans? Did his blatant remarks on women as mere pieces of ass really do him any good? Oh, and he even took shots at mentally-handicapped people fully unaware of the backlash that he would receive after doing so.
That’s the problem with the tough-talking real-estate mogul: he filters none of his words and actions and he ends up shooting his own foot at that. Sure, a good number of the American public admires a person as down-to-earth as Trump is. However, Trump’s inner demons and truly shady personality far outweigh that of his promising goals for the United States (he even downright lies in over half of his hasty remarks).
Just take a look at this list of 230 disgusting things that have been quoted from Trump’s mouth, and we dare you to tell us with a straight face that this is a voice of a man that’s fit to run the greatest country in the world.
Simply put, Trump’s presidential campaign went down the drain after he went full-metal-jacket in the wake of the primaries. We strongly believe that Trump lost all the trust of his remaining supporters after he had constantly backtracked on his knee-jerk reactions and followed them up with even more radical soundbites. Many have come to the realization that he is not a man that deserves to lead the US of A; he’d rather have the country pick fights with other nations and ethnicities rather than have the nation flourish as a collective group of individuals with optimism in mind.
Sounds like Trump’s just as selfish as he’s ever been in wanting to turn America into another one of his prized properties, if you ask us.
Betting on Hillary Clinton (-480)
With Trump pouring the gasoline and also lighting the match on his own campaign as we speak, it stands to reason then why Hillary Clinton is the clear odds-on favorite to become the 58th president of the United States.
Sure, Clinton has her own shady, hidden agenda, mainly by way of her controversy surrounding her confidential emails as Secretary of State having been deleted (which is now being investigated by the FBI, by the way). But all things considered, should we really care as much about those emails of national importance?
As regular Joes with little know-how on the inner workings of U.S. politics, there are just some matters that should be left to the big boys in the Capital to iron out, not us. We can be opinionated as hell on the ordeal, but in the end, we’ll still be rendered helpless with whatever the fallout from the scandal would be because there are greater implications in store for the entire country if things are really bleak come the aftermath of the investigation.
That’s not to say that we should turn a blind eye on the situation; Clinton’s problem is bigger than us and only time will tell if those deleted emails of her will truly lead to our country’s ruin. We’d rather keep a positive outlook that these emails are nothing of significant value to the overall outlook of the United States, and that leads us back to our main points as for why the former First Lady is a better pick to run the country than Trump: optimism and diplomacy.
If you’ve watched any of the presidential debates, it’s obvious that Clinton had a more professional demeanor and had calculated answers as opposed to Trump’s brash headiness and borderline-childish retorts. One had the aura of a somehow respectable political figure, while the other stank of sheer bullying and privilege.
Let’s face it: America is the biggest loser in this year’s election period. But if you’re inclined to say that both are equally horrible people but are forced to pick one over the other, Hillary’s clearly the lesser evil between the two. Hey, the oddsmakers sure believe that to be as such, right?
Betting on Gary Johnson (+50,000)
Yes, people, there’s one more presidential candidate on the ballot that you can still place a bet on to win the seat at the Oval Office: New Mexico’s former governor Gary Johnson.
Yet given how we are also just as shocked to find out that there’s still a veeeery slim chance of him upending both Trump and Clinton on Tuesday, you’d still be better off staying far away from Johnson as a long-shot pick at your sportsbook.
Go on… tell us anything you know about Mr. Johnson. Did you know that he’s in favor of lowering taxes and for the legalization of marijuana? We didn’t think so. On the latter subject, this quirky video of him pulling out some acting chops at a live interview for a local news station is golden. However, that stunt still passes off as Johnson’s desperate plea for attention to get the millennial voters (or any voters for that matter) to recognize him as an alternative to the sewage that’s being spewed all over the news.
Nevertheless, that same sewage is what’s being fed to the masses, and Trump and Clinton are the only ones at the forefront of all the action. How could Johnson expect to compete with such insane media coverage of the two? He didn’t stand a chance, and your bet wouldn’t either if you sided with this outlier of a presidential candidate.
Writer’s Prediction
Clinton (-480) wins by a landslide to become the first female U.S. president in history and to mercifully put this wild election period to an end.
