Betting on Manchester City

Manchester City stretched their unbeaten run in the Premier League to three games with a thrilling 2-1 win over Watford on January 2. It was a fantastic result for the Citizens who recorded their first away victory since Kelechi Iheanacho scored a late winner against Crystal Palace on September 12.

[sc:Soccer240banner ]They will look to keep the momentum going later today when they take on Everton. The Citizens will fancy their chances of extending that excellent run against the Toffees as they have fared extremely well at home this season. Manchester City lead the league in points scored at home this campaign with 24. They have scored a whopping 29 goals in 10 matches played at the Etihad Stadium thus far this season.

Expected to lead Manchester City’s charge today is the red-hot Sergio Aguero. The Premier League’s top scorer last season is starting to deliver once again, either scoring or assisting in four of City’s last five goals. He displayed his attacking brilliance in the FA Cup win against Norwich this past weekend, weaving past three defenders before poking in a finish for a stunning solo goal.

He will need to be at his best today with injuries ravaging City at the moment. Manchester City will be without the injured quintet of Wilfried Bony, Fernandinho, Vincent Kompany, Eliaquim Mangala and Samir Nasri for today’s game against Everton. The good news, though, for manager Manuel Pellegrini is that he will have David Silva and Yaya Toure for today’s crunch clash. They missed City’s FA Cup win at Norwich but are both fit to return against Everton. Toure has had a hand in six goals (three goals, three assists) in eight league meetings with Everton.

Betting on Everton

EPL Manchester City vs Everton Predictions, Odds and Betting Preview

Everton will head to their Premier League clash with Manchester City with momentum on their side after recording a 2-0 victory over League Two strugglers Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday. This result comes on the heels of their thrilling 2-1 win over Manchester City in the first leg of their League Cup semifinal. The Toffees are still unbeaten in all competitions thus far this year.

Providing a major boost for manager Roberto Martinez for today’s match is the returning Romelu Lukaku. The in-form forward had been a doubt for the game against City after missing the Toffees’ FA Cup tie against Dagenham and Redbridge at the weekend with an ankle knock. The Belgian international has been on fire for Everton this 2015/16 season, smashing 19 goals in 25 appearances thus far. He scored the winner in that first-leg victory against Manchester City a week ago.

He will be integral to an Everton side that has struggled mightily in the Premier League this season. The Toffees are just 11th this campaign, having won only six league fixtures and just once in their past seven top-flight matches. It won’t get any easier for them against Manchester City with the Citizens winning four and drawing one of their last five league matchups.

Writer’s Prediction

Manchester City (-258) ease past Everton, 3-0.
