FAVORITES
Denny Hamlin (+600)
Hamlin had a good weekend in Michigan despite not winning any of the two races there, as he finished sixth at the FireKeepers Casino 400 on Saturday and runner-up to Kevin Harvick at the Consumers Energy 400 the day after. Hamlin lost that Sunday race by just .093 seconds, which is now the second-closest margin of victory at Michigan International Speedway. Hamlin will not prepare for the next race at Daytona International Speedway, where he’s won three times in 29 career races.
Kevin Harvick (+600)
What else is there to say about Harvick? The top driver of the season thus far added two more wins to his name with a clean sweep of the races at the Michigan International Speedway over the weekend. Harvick now has six wins in 21 starts and hasn’t finished outside of the top 5 in his last 10 starts (including the All-Star Race). Harvick can continue his winning streak this coming weekend at Daytona International Speedway. He has two wins and 10 top 5s in his 38 career starts in Daytona Beach.
Joey Logano (+1600)
While Logano is still searching for his first win since March, he’s got something good going for him. Logano has five top 10s in his last six starts. This past weekend, he finished eighth at the FireKeepers Casino 400 and fifth at the Consumers Energy 400.
SLEEPERS
Ty Dillon (odds)
Dillon’s career average finish at Daytona International Speedway is just 20.44, but he’s cut that in half, at 11.5, over his last four appearances there, thanks to three finishes inside the top 6 in four starts, dating back to 2018.
Bubba Wallace (odds)
Wallace had a generally lukewarm experience in Michigan, finishing ninth at the FireKeepers Casino 400 and 21st at the Consumers Energy 400. Wallace’s best performance at Daytona International Speedway so far was a runner-up finish at the 2018 Daytona 500.
LONG SHOT
John Hunter Nemechek (odds)
Nemechek hasn’t finished better than 19th in any of his last five starts. In his most recent start, Nemechek finished 23rd at the Consumers Energy 400 last Sunday. In his only appearance to date at the Daytona International Speedway, Nemechek went 11th at last February’s Daytona 500.
Writer’s Prediction
Joey Logano gets the win at the 2020 GoBowling at the Glen.
