The Golden State Warriors continue their road trip this Friday in the Atlanta Hawks’ nest, where the defending champions also look to extend their win streak. Will the Warriors do just that in convincing fashion? Or will the Hawks somehow defy logic (and their tanking orders) by pulling off an upset win?

Betting on the Golden State Warriors (48-14)
The Warriors no longer owns the league’s best record in the league, an honor that currently belongs to the Houston Rockets, they still arguably are the last team most teams would like to face. Kevin Durant, Stephen, Curry, and Klay Thompson is the meanest triumvirate in the NBA right now, and the three’s presence in tonight’s meeting with Atlanta almost feels like overkill for the Warriors. Curry leads the team with 26.7 points per game, Durant puts up 26.0, while Thompson isn’t too shabby with 19.8. The Warriors, who are No. 1 in the NBA in scoring with 116.1 points per game, is on a four-game win streak, a stretch that includes their 109-91 road win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
They are also 9-1 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games against the Hawks.
Betting on the Atlanta Hawks (19-43)
It hasn’t been much of a secret that the Hawks are merely using this season to win a high pick in this year’s NBA Draft by embarrassing themselves on an almost nightly basis. The Hawks only have 20 games left on their schedule, but up to this point they have yet top win 20 games. Having said that, Atlanta can sometimes kick opposing teams in the face. Their last five wins include victories against playoff contenders like Indiana, Minnesota, and Detroit. Beating the Warriors still is a tall task, but at the very least, the Hawks could cover the spread. Atlanta is 5-5 ATS in its last 10 home games. Dennis Schroder and Kent Bazemore form a stubborn backcourt that opposing teams can’t take very lightly. Schroder tops the Hawks with 19.3 points and 6.1 assists per game, while Bazemore is putting up 12.8 points with a 38.4 shooting percentage from the three-point area.
Writer’s Prediction:
Golden State wins, 115-101.
