Betting on the Golden State Warriors (+2)

The Warriors showed in Game 1 that they maybe the lower seed in the conference finals matchup, they are still the team to beat. Kevin Durant was spectacular, scoring 37 points on 14-for-27 shooting from the field with three 3-pointers and three rebounds. No one from the Rockets was able to stop Durant even on shots when there was a hand on his face. If Durant plays like this every game, the series is not going to be long. The former league MVP is averaging 28.8 points in these playoffs. Meanwhile, Klay Thompson also had an awesome game with 28 points and six 3-pointers. The Warriors shot 52.5 percent form the field even though Stephen Curry only had 18 points (1-5 3FGM). The Warriors are tops in the playoffs in scoring with 111.1 points per game.

Golden State is also 2-0 ATS in its last two games.

Betting on the Houston Rockets (-2)

In his first career conference finals game, Chris Paul scored 23 points to go with 11 rebounds and three assists. James Harden had a huge outing with 41 points, including five 3-pointers, seven assists, and five rebounds. Paul and Harden were the dynamic duo that everyone expected them to be, but it hurt Houston that it committed a total of 16 turnovers that led to a lot of easy points for Golden State on the open court. The Warriors scored 18 points on the fastbreak, while the Rockets only had three. Cutting down on their turnovers is definitely going to be high on the priority list of Houston for Game 2. Luc Mbah a Moute had a plus/minus of minus-14, as he went 0-for-6 from the field and failed to do much on defense. Few people are looking at him, but he needs to do better on Wednesday.

The Rockets are 5-2 SU in its last seven home games.

Writer’s Prediction:

Houston wins, 110-107.
