Betting on the Gonzaga Bulldogs (odds)
Record: 15-0 Overall / 6-0 Conference
Gonzaga remains unscathed. The Bulldogs preserved their immaculate record and added another victory by defeating the Pacific Tigers last Saturday, 95-49. Gonzaga dominated the Tigers pretty much how you would think the Bulldogs would. They shot 52.9 percent from the field and hit 12 of 26 3-pointers. Drew Timme scored 22 points to lead Gonzaga, while Corey Kispert and Joel Ayayi had 16 and 12 points, respectively. Gonzaga owns the highest-scoring and most efficient offenses in the nation. The Bulldogs are averaging 94.4 points per game and 1.25 points per possession. They are also shooting 54.9 percent from the field and have a 60.4 effective field goal percentage – also the best in the nation.
Gonzaga is 3-1-1 against the spread in its last five games at home.
Betting on the San Diego Toreros (odds)
Record: 2-6 Overall / 1-3 Conference
San Diego ended a four-game losing skid by downing the Portland Pilots on the road last Saturday, 78-70. Josh Parrish stepped up and scored 20 points for the Toreros, while three other San Diego starters chipped in double-figure contributions on offense. San Diego shot 56.4 percent from the field against Portland, the best shooting performance the Toreros have had, so far this season, and the hope for the team is that it’ll carry over at least some of that offensive brilliance into the showdown with Gonzaga. San Diego is averaging 65.4 points per game while giving up 73.6 points per contest. Joey Calcaterra, who had 12 points against Portland, leads San Diego this season with 14.7 points per game.
The over is 3-2 in San Diego’s last five games as the home team.
Writer’s Prediction
Gonzaga wins, 100-64.
