Betting on the Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers reminded the world why he is who he is—the reigning and defending MVP of the league—with another flawless performance in their 38-28 triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs Monday night at Lambeau Field.
[sc:NFL240banner ]Rodgers dazzled a capacity crowd of more than 78,000 by finishing the game 24-of-35 for a total of 333 yards with no touchdowns and zero interceptions to overwhelm a resilient Kansas City squad. But also deserving huge credit for this win is the pair of Randall Cobb and James Jones, the top two wide receivers of Green Bay.
Cobb consistently connected with Rodgers for three touchdowns and eventually went for 91 yards on seven catches. Jones, meanwhile, had a huge share of the spotlight as well by leading his team with 139 yards on seven receptions. He has now managed to garner at least a touchdown in each of their three games this season.
Having all of this said, the kings of the NFC North division are bound for yet another promising performance when they travel to Santa Clara and take on the struggling San Francisco 49ers—a team that has only been able to rack up 25 points in their last two games.
It’s worth noting, though, that the Packers have never beaten the Niners since the 2010 season and are 3-3 in their last six contests at Levi Stadium. For this losing skid to come to an end, Green Bay should take full advantage of the Niners’ dismal secondary that yields 10.0 yards per reception through three games thus far, the sixth-worst in the league.
Look to none other than Cobb and Jones to build on their respective performances by exploiting this weakness and help the Packers remain undefeated by notching win No. 4.
Eddie Lacy, meanwhile, cannot be forgotten as he currently remains to be one of the top running backs in the NFL. He has yet to find his dominant form this campaign but the Niners would be smart not to relax on such a threatening offensive presence on the ground. After three games, Lacy has rushed for 94 yards on 22 carries with a single touchdown to his name.
Green Bay is 5-5 SU and ATS in its last 10 games on the road.

Betting on the San Francisco 49ers
Terrible and embarrassing would be the best words to describe what kind of performance the San Francisco 49ers displayed in their Week 3 showdown with the, Arizona Cardinals, on Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium.
The Niners barely got anything going at all on offense and their quarterback Colin Kaepernick was a testament to this struggle. Kaepernick endured the worst start of his professional career, finishing 9-of-19 for a miserable 67 yards with zero touchdowns and a career-high of four interceptions in the eventual 47-7 blowout loss to their NFC West rivals. He’s now the first quarterback in franchise history to throw a pair of pick-sixes in a game since Steve DeBerg in 1980.
Making matters worse, the Niners’ stout linebacker NaVorro Bowman and tight end Vernon Davis both left the game with respective knee injuries and did not return. Their status for their next game this coming Sunday versus the Aaron Rodgers-led Green Bay Packers remains in question.
If that remains to be the case, a lot of pressure will be on Kaepernick and the rest of the Niners to quickly find a way to wake up their offense that has been outscored by a combined 90-25 over their past two games. They can accomplish this by capitalizing on their formidable rushing game that ranks second-best in the NFL with 148.0 yards per contest this year.
Expect running back Carlos Hyde to lead the charge on the ground by trying to pull off a similar performance he had during their season-opening victory against the Vikings, where he exploded for 168 yards on 26 carries with a pair of touchdowns under his name. He is also averaging a team-best 4.9 yards per carry this 2015 season.
Over on defense, the onus is on Michael Wilhoite and Ian Williams, who have 22 tackles combined through three games, to solidify the 49ers’ front seven opposite the Packers’ fearsome rushing game that’s averaging 4.2 yards per carry.
San Francisco is 3-2 SU and 1-4 ATS in its previous five home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Green Bay makes it four-straight wins with a 30-14 win over the Niners.
