Houston Astros vs New York Yankees Predictions, Picks, Odds, and Betting Preview – Season Series June 20-23 2019

The Houston Astros and the New York Yankees are leaders of their respective divisions, but the latter is on a more precarious spot, as the difference between them and the Tampa Bay Rays isn’t that big. The Yankees haven’t named a starter for the opening game of the series against the Astros, but their starting rotation has a 4.13 ERA as of this writing.

Peacock was among the Astros pitchers who got rocked in a 12-0 home loss to the Blue Jays on Jun. 16 in which he allowed four earned runs on five hits across five innings. He has allowed 10 runs over his last three starts, spanning 16.1 frames. Paxton picked up a win on Jun. 16, allowing just two earned runs on eight hits while striking out seven batters in six innings of a 10-3 road win over the Chicago White Sox. The lefty is 3-1 with a 5.96 ERA over his first five road starts this season.

Michael Brantley is 4-for-9 in career vs. Paxton.

The current batting lineup of the Yankees has a collective career batting average of .250 against Peacock.

Prediction: Yankees win, 6-4.

Starters: Wade Miley (6-3, 3.14 ERA) vs. Masahiro Tanaka (4-5, 3.58 ERA)

Miley hasn’t faced the Yankees in two years. Moreover, he is only 0-4 with a 5.86 ERA in 10 career starts against the Bronx Bombers. If anything, the over has gone 4-0 in his last four starts opposite against the Yankees. Miley will go up against Tanaka, who has been shaky of late. Tanaka has allowed four earned runs in each of his last three starts as of this writing. That said, the Yankees are 2-1 in Tanaka’s last three starts against Houston.

Carlos Correa is 5-for-15 in career vs. Tanaka.

DJ LeMahieu is 6-for-19 in career vs. Miley.

Prediction: Yankees win, 5-4.

Starters: Justin Verlander (9-2, 2.41 ERA) vs. J.A. Happ (6-3, 4.66 ERA)

He has a career record of 7-7 with a 3.54 ERA in 21 starts against New York. Happ has been more successful in his career against Houston. He is 5-2 with a 3.46 ERA in nine career starts against the Astros.

Carlos Correa is 5-for-11 in career vs. Happ.
