Betting on the Iowa State Cyclones (odds)
Record: 13-2 Overall/4-0 Conference
The Cyclones extended their win streak to six games after they defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders at home last Tuesday. As usual, Iowa State’s defense took away the fight frp, the Cyclones’opponent in that game, with the Red Raiders posting just a 41.3 eFG%. So far this season, Iowa State is sixth in the nation in adjusted defensive rating with just 88.5 points allowed per 100 possessions. The Cyclones are seventh with only 57.7 points surrendered per contest. Offensively, Iowa State shouldn’t be slept on, as three of its top five scorers have a 56.0 eFG% or better. As a team, the Cyclones are No. 1 in Big 12 play with a 56.1 eFG%.
Iowa State is 4-1 against the spread in its last five games.
Betting on the Kansas Jayhawks (odds)
Record: 15-1 Overall/4-0 Conference
Kansas is in scorching form, too. The Jayhawks defeated the Oklahoma Sooners at home last Tuesday, 79-75, to add to move a win away this Saturday from hitting a 10-game win streak. Bill Self’s team comes across as a much more balanced team than Iowa State. Kansas is top 10 in the nation in adjusted offensive rating and top 15 in terms of adjusted defensive rating. This team can win with either their offense or defense leading the way. Jalen Wilson leads the Jayhawks on offense with 20.0 points per game, but it was KJ Adams who paced the team in the Oklahoma game with 22 points. So far this season, the Jayhawks are putting up 77.8 points per game.
Kansas is 6-4 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
Kansas wins, 74-72.
