The Jaguars are coming off a 40-34 overtime win at home over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15. Trevor Lawrence recorded 318 passing yards and four touchdowns with an interception while going 27/42 versus Dallas. The success of the Jags’ offense in that game was also because of the sure hands of wide receiver Zay Jones, who had 109 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions. Jacksonville is now on a groove, with three wins in four games, and had just taken down a legitimate playoff contender in the form of the Cowboys.
The Jaguars are 3-1 against the spread in their last four games overall.
Betting on the New York Jets (0.0)
Regular Season Record: 7-7
The Jets have gone winless in their last three games after losing to the Detroit Lions at home in Week 15, 20-17. Mike White is unlikely to play in Week 16 as he continues to deal with a rib injury that forced him out of Week 15’s meeting with the Lions. That means Zach Wilson is likely to start against the Jaguars. Wilson passed for 317 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 18/35 passing against the Lions. Garrett Wilson recorded 98 receiving yards on four receptions in Week 15 for the Jets, whose defense is still top 10 in the NFL in points allowed per game.
The Cowboys are 5-5 against the spread in their last 10 games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Jaguars win, 23-19.
