Betting on the LA Clippers (-8)

Regular Season Record: 47-23

Considering that they have locked up their seats in the playoffs plus the fact that it’s only the Oklahoma City Thunder they’re going to face, don’t be surprised if the Clippers end up sitting Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. The Thunder don’t seem interested in winning games, as they look forward to a potential No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, so even a superstar-less Clippers squad could take care of business on Sunday. The Clippers, as of this writing, are coming off a 113-90 win over the Charlotte Hornets on the road. Prior to that, they took down the Toronto Raptors in Tampa, 115-96. Reggie Jackson, Luke Kennard, Marcus Morris, and Ivica Zubac could hold the fort should George and Leonard miss out on the regular-season finale. The Clippers are also 2-0 straight up against Oklahoma City this season. Also, they have won all of their last four meetings with the Thunder, dating back to last season, and are 3-1 against the spread in those contests.

Betting on the Oklahoma City Thunder (+8)

Regular Season Record: 21-49

The Thunder have been out of contention for the playoffs a long time ago. At this point, all they want is for the regular season to finish so they could go out there and have their vacations. But of course, they also want to end this forgettable season on a positive and a win over the Clippers will give them exactly that. Before taking on the Clippers, the Thunder will play the Utah Jazz at home first on Friday. The Thunder were led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the previous two games against the Clippers, but since he’s been ruled out for the rest of the season, Oklahoma City will look for the likes of Aleksej Pokusevski, Darius Bazley, and Isaiah Roby to provide most of the offense for the team. Roby had a double-double in the last meeting with the Clippers, scoring 10 points with 10 rebounds in 26 minutes. The Thunder are 7-3 in their last 10 home games against the Clippers.

Writer’s Prediction

The Clippers win, 117-107.
