Betting on L.A. Angels
Los Angeles will be starting C.J. Wilson (7-5, 3.32 ERA) Friday night. The Angels pitcher dominated in his last start, allowing only one earned run while striking out six. The team is 4-1 in Wilson’s last five road starts as a favorite.
[sc:MLB240banner ]From the plate, the Angels are hitting .256, the fourth-best average in the majors. Adding to the stat is Josh Hamilton. The batter returned to the lineup in June after suffering a torn ligament in his left thumb. Since his return, he’s hit .333 in nine showings. As an added advantage, Hamilton has gone six for nine with two homers against Braves pitcher Aaron Harang.
The under is 3-0-1 in Angel’s last four games.
Betting on Atlanta Braves
Atlanta is one of the best-pitching teams in the majors with a team 3.18 ERA. However, Braves starter Harang (4-5, 3.32 ERA) had some issues in his last start. He allowed three earned runs on four hits and six walks in a loss to Arizona.
Harang has also had issues with the Angels throughout his career. He’s 1-6 lifetime in seven starts against the L.A. Angels.
Atlanta’s B.J. Upton has shown better hitting lately, with three homers in the last three weeks. That said, Upton tends to struggle against Wilson, having only hit .150 in his career against the Angels pitcher.
The Braves are 0-6 in their last six interleague games.
Writer’s Prediction
Los Angeles beats the Braves in a low-scoring game.
