TV Broadcast: MLBN/ESPN

Betting on the Los Angeles Angels (+1.5)

Record: 29-34

The Angels are on a losing streak again. After falling prey to the New York Mets to close out a three-game series last Sunday, the Halos got taken down by the Dodgers Tuesday night. The Angels are struggling to get players to cross the home plate again, as they have scored just a total of 3 runs in the last couple of games. Hopefully for the Angels, they will be providing home runs to make lefty Reid Detmers feel comfortable on the mound. Detmers is 2-2 with a 3.83 ERA so far this season and he hasn’t picked up a win in any of his last four starts. Detmers is actually pitching so well of late, has not allowed a run in both of his last two starts across 8.2 innings. Taylor Ward, Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani are all dangerous offensive weapons for the Angels, who are fifth in the majors in homers (78).

The Angels are 5-1 in their last 6 interleague games vs. lefty starters.

Betting on the Los Angeles Dodgers (-1.5)

Record: 32-29 Conference

Tyler Johnson had trouble on the mound in his last start, but the Dodgers’ incredible hitting prevented him from picking up a loss. That was when Anderson allowed 4 earned runs on 4 hots in just 3.0 innings of an 11-9 road win over the Chicago White Sox on Jun 9. Anderson will come into Wednesday’s game with a 7-0 record and a 3.07 ERA in 11 starts this year. Anderson and the rest of the Dodgers’ starters are getting 5.53 runs per 9 innings – the second-most in the majors. The Dodgers’ bullpen isn’t too shabby either. The team is ninth in the MLB with a collective bullpen ERA of 3.52. Detmers can’t be bringing lesser stuff to this game, as he will be facing the Dodgers’ batting order that features Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Trea Turner.

The Dodgers are 21-6 in their last 27 interleague home games vs. a team with a losing record.

Writer’s Prediction

The Angels win, 6-4.
