The New York Yankees are playing catch up in the American League East division, as they are 1.5 games behind of the Boston Red Sox as of this writing for leadership in the division. The Los Angeles Angels, meanwhile, are third in the AL West, and could tighten the gap between them and the division-leading Houston Astros if they have a good outing at the Bronx beginning this Friday.
