Los Angeles Clippers vs Golden State Warriors Predictions, Picks, Odds, and NBA Basketball Betting Preview – Western Conference Playoffs Round 1 Game 5 – April 24 2019

If the Los Angeles Clippers have a bunny in their hat, they have to pull it out this Wednesday. Otherwise, they’ll be going home and the Golden State Warriors heading into the second round. Will the Clippers find a way to live another day or two in the playoffs? Or will the Warriors stop messing around and finish the series up in five games? Going into the game the sportsbook favors the home team by more than two TDs (sorry, we’ve got NFL Draft on the mind). Click here for the latest odds and prices for NBA Playoffs series.

Betting on the Los Angeles Clippers (48-34 Regular Season)

Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell are arguably the biggest reasons why the Clippers are even  making Golden State sweat more in the first round than expected, so when the duo had subpar performances in Game 4, it came with little surprise why the Clippers lost to the Warriors, 113-105. Williams scored 12 points off the bench but made just two of his 10 shots from the field. Harrell, on the other hand, only had 10 points in 26 minutes. Williams is leading the Clippers in the playoffs with 22.3 points per game, while Harrell is right behind him with 19.0 markers per contest. If anything, rookie Shai Gilgeous-Alexander provided optimism for the Clippers heading into Game 5 with a superb outing in Game 4 in which he finished with a team-high 25 points on 9-for-15 shooting. The Clippers could be starting the former Kentucky Wildcat again this Wednesday to see if he has carried that kind of torrid shooting into Game 5.

The Clippers are 6-3-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 road games.

Betting on the Golden State Warriors (57-25 Regular Season)

Klay Thompson has finally woke up. After scoring no more than 17 points in any of the first three games of the first round, Thompson found his stroke in Game 4, dropping 32 points on 12-for-20 shooting from the field with six 3-pointers. Not that the Warriors are in urgent need for Thompson to break out from his slump, but they will definitely take it when he does. With Thompson recapturing his stroke, the Clippers will have more to worry about in defending against Golden State’s attack. Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant have proven they are enough for Golden State to take down the Clippers, as they are averaging 25.0 and 28.8 points, respectively, so far in the series. Curry, however, only had 12 points in Game 4, but that fact that the Warriors still won only shows how lethal the team is when it operates on its full potential. Durant had 33 points in Game 4.

The Warriors are 4-2 ATS in their last six home games.

Writer’s Prediction

Golden State wins, 120-105.
