In spite of Matthew Stafford’s error-filled performance, the Rams managed to pull off a 30-23 road win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16. With that victory, the Rams have now extended their win streak to four games and claimed the solo spot atop the NFC West, thanks also to the Arizona Cardinals losing to the Indianapolis Colts. Stafford threw for 197 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions on 21/37 completions. He can rebound in Week 17 against Baltimore’s banged-up defense that had just been blown to bits by Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Meanwhile, the Rams won’t have Darrell Henderson on the field this Sunday after the running back landed on the injured reserve with a knee issue. Sony Michel should see an expanded role, but it’s still going to be Stafford and the Rams’ passing attack that should be the highlight of LA’s offense.
The Rams are 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 games overall.
Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (+3.5)
Regular Season Record: 8-7
With both Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley ruled out of Week 16, the Ravens settled with Josh Johnson at quarterback and absorbed a 41-21 road loss to the Bengals. Jackson is dealing with an ankle injury, though there’s a chance he can return to action this week. Huntley landed on the COVID-19 list ahead of the Bengals game, and it’s unsure when he can be activated from it, as of this writing. Regardless of who starts under center for the Ravens, expect tight end Mark Andrews to ball out. Andrews caught eight passes for 125 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals. He has now recorded at least 115 receiving yards in each of his last three games with four touchdowns during that span. On the season, Baltimore is averaging 23.7 points and 382.1 total yards per contest – 16th and fifth in the NFL, respectively.
The Ravens are 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 games as a home underdog.
Writer’s Prediction
