Betting on the Memphis Grizzlies (odds)

Regular Season Record: 55-23

The Grizzlies are coming off a 122-114 win at home over the Phoenix Suns. That’s a pretty massive statement made by Memphis, which defeated one of the favorites to win the NBA title this season despite missing its best player: Ja Morant. Speaking of Morant, the high-flying guard is not going to be around again this time, as he has already been ruled out. But if there’s one thing the Grizzlies have proven over the past several games, it’s that they remain an extremely dangerous team even without Morant. In fact, the Grizzlies have won all of their last seven games sans Morant, thanks to a number of guys stepping up for the team like Dillon Brooks, Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane, and De’Anthony Melton.

The Grizzlies, who are 2-0 this season versus Utah, are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games after a win.

Betting on the Utah Jazz (odds)

Regular Season Record: 46-32

Just when it looked like the Jazz have finally righted their ship with a 122-109 home win over the Los Angeles Lakers last Thursday, they went back to losing soon after that, as they fell prey to the Golden State Warriors on the road the following day, 111-107. Still, the Jazz are capable of beating talented teams, as they are not short on talent either. Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, and Rudy Gobert power the Jazz, who are still top 10 in the NBA in both scoring offense and scoring defense. Utah is seventh in the legue with 113.4 points per game and 10th with 107.9 points allowed per contest.

The Jazz are 8-3-1 against the spread in their last 12 games as a favorite at home.

Writer’s Prediction

The Grizzlies win, 114-110.
