Betting on the Phoenix Suns (ODDS)
Regular Season Record: 39-35
The Suns finally snapped a three-game losing skid last Saturday by taking down Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers at home, 125-105. That’s one hell of a statement victory for Phoenix, as that was at the expense of a legitimate title contender while also still missing the pair of Kevin Durant and Deandre Ayton. Durant is not expected to be back any time soon, while Ayton has at least a slim potential to return to action this Monday. In any case, the Suns have Bismack Biyombo ready to give it a go. Biyombo played well in lieu of Ayton versus Philly, scoring 17 points with 13 rebounds and five blocks. Phoenix also still has Both Chris Paul and Devin Booker to run the offense and create scoring chances for a Suns team that is averaging 113.7 points per game.
The Over is 6-0 in the Suns’ last six games.
Betting on the Utah Jazz (ODDS)
Regular Season Record: 35-39
Utah has been cold of late, which is unfortunate for the Jazz, who still have a chance of making at least the Play-in Tournament. The Jazz are coming off a 121-113 road loss to the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. They now return to Salt Lake City, where Utah tasted its most recent win – a 128-120 victory over the Kings on Mar. 20. Despite their recent losses, the Jazz can’t say they’re not happy with how rookie Walker Kessler is playing. The center just scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss to the Kings. That performance is a major confidence booster for Kessler heading into a matchup against the Suns. Seeing Kessler join the scoring fray is a big plus for Utah, which entered Saturday’s meeting with Sacramento sixth in the NBA with 117.3 points per game.
The Jazz are 3-1 against the spread in their last four meetings with the Suns.
Writer’s Prediction
The Suns win, 114-110.
