Betting on the Milwaukee Bucks (-4)

Regular Season Record: 51-31

Even without Khris Middleton, the Bucks were able to dominate Chicago in Game 2. Giannis Antetokounmpo didn’t even need to have an explosion performance for Milwaukee to win that game, as he only scored 18 points to go with 9 assists and 7 rebounds. Plenty of Bucks stepped up to fill the void left by Middleton, including Grayson Allen who put up 22 points off the bench. Bobby Portis started and dropped 18 points. The Bucks are just so deep that they really look as though they can weather Middleton’s absence for the rest of the series. Milwaukee’s size, length, and outside shooting are causing big headaches for the Bulls. The team can run a unit on the floor with Portis, Lopez, and Antetokounmpo without sacrificing the ability to stretch Chicago’s defense.

The Bucks are 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 road games.

Betting on the Chicago Bulls (+4)

Regular Season Record: 46-36

If the Bulls are to upset Milwaukee in the first round, they are going to need the best of DeMar DeRozan. That’s why it was not shocking to see them get dominated by Milwaukee in Game 4, as DeRozan was only able to muster 11 points on 4/9 shooting from the field. Zach LaVine also struggled as he went 6/13 for 15 points. The Bulls’ 3-point shooting in that contest was an eye sore, as they made just 9 of 34 attempts from deep. They will have to do a whole lot better shooting the ball from long range while also running offensive schemes that fits the strengths of Nikola Vucevic, who appears to be lacking chances at high-percentage shots. The big man has launched more 3-point attempts than shots taken around the rim.

The Bulls are 19-7 against the spread in their last 26 games on a Sunday.

Writer’s Prediction

The Bulls win, 112-110.
