Betting on the Milwaukee Bucks (60-22 Regular Season)
It’s been just too easy for the Bucks in the playoffs thus far. On Wednesday, they steamrolled Detroit once again in a 120-99 victory at home to give themselves a solid cushion heading into a road game in the series. Giannis Antetokounmpo was brilliant as usual, as he scored 26 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out four assists, and swatted away two shots, Eric Bledsoe, meanwhile, led Milwaukee with 27 points on 11-for-19 shooting from the field. The Bucks also got prime production from the bench, especially from Pat Connaughton, who had 18 points and a pair of 3-pointers. The Bucks are toying with Detroit’s defense, as they are having their way on offense. They are shooting 50 percent from the field on the series, and have hit 26 triples on 37.7 percent clip over the last two games. They are also doing lots of damage in the paint, having scored 112 points in the shaded area in the series to just 76 by Detroit.
The Bucks are 2-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last two road games, and are 31-26-4 after a win this season.
Betting on the Detroit Pistons (41-41 Regular Season)
Blake Griffin continues to be held out due to a knee issue, and it’s becoming very clear that Detroit is not going anywhere with him not in uniform. Griffin is likely going to be unavailable again in Game 3, which means another chance for Thon Maker to start. However, Maker hasn’t been very effective, as he has struggled to defend Antetokounmpo while being an anemic source of points. He finished Game 2 with six points. Still, he had a plus-minus of +6, which was indicative that he’s doing something relatively good, especially when considering the fact that Andre Drummond had a plus-minus of -32. Drummond needs to step it up and play like the blooming superstar that he once was. He had 18 points and 1 6 rebounds in Game 2, but he’s very much capable of doing more and inspiring his teammates. Speaking of which, Luke Kennard seems to have been inspired by his 21-point performance in Game 1, as he followed that up by putting up 19 points on Wednesday.
Detroit is 2-1-1 ATS in its last four home games against the Bucks.
Writer’s Prediction
Milwaukee wins, 117-107.
