Betting on the Milwaukee Bucks (odds)
Regular Season Record: 29-16
The Bucks are on a slump. They have lost all of their last three games after tasting a 129-105 defeat on the road at the hands of the LA Clippers on Monday. Prior to that, the Bucks also lost to the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks — both at home. Despite the bad stretch the Bucks are currently on, they should feel good about their chances this Wednesday against the Lakers. For one, the Lakers will not have Anthony Davis and LeBron James, which means this Lakers team is not even close to the strength of the one that beat the Bucks in Milwaukee back in January. Giannis Antetokoumpo should have his way in this rematch against the Lakers. He had 25 points and 12 boards in the first meeting with Los Angeles.
The over is 3-1 in Milwaukee’s last four road games.
Betting on the Los Angeles Lakers (odds)
Regular Season Record: 30-17
The Lakers are learning to win again after a four-game losing skid. They have won their last two games, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers (100-86) and the Orlando Magic (96-93) last Friday and Sunday, respectively, at home. While beating lottery teams barely prove anything about how steady the Lakers are right now, it must still feel good for them to be winning again. Help is also on the way for the Lakers after the franchise signed Andre Drummond off the waivers, though it remains unknown as of this writing whether he’ll make his debut in Purple and Gold colors this Wednesday against the Bucks. In any case, the Lakers will rely on Montrezl Harrel (20.6 points in last 5) and Dennis Schroder (19.6 PPG in last 5). Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 23 points (7-10 3FG) in the first meeting with Milwaukee this season.
The Lakers are 3-3 against the spread in their last six games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bucks win, 123-116.
