The Cards are 4-0 in Lynn’s last four starts, including their 7-3 win against Cincinnati last August 20th. With a 4-3 win last night against Toronto, the Red Sox finally stopped their losing streak at eight games. They’ll look to build on that momentum as they take on Blue Jays pitcher R.A. Dickey (10-12, 4.08 ERA), who has led Toronto to success in his last few meetings with Boston. The Blue Jays are 3-0 in Dickey’s last three starts against Boston, including a 14-1 beatdown of the Red Sox last July 28th.

Including his days as an Arizona Diamondback, Brandon McCarthy’s (8-12, 4.01 ERA) teams are 4-1 in his last five road starts. The Tigers, meanwhile, are 4-1 in Rick Porcello’s (14-8, 3.10 ERA) last five home starts against New York.

Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants (10:15 PM ET)

Line: Colorado Rockies (+160) at San Francisco Giants (-180); total: 6.5 – see all MLB lines

Madison Bumgarner

Three-straight losses have brought the Giants on the brink of losing their grip of the National League’s second wild card position. San Francisco looks to get back on track when it starts Madison Bumgarner (14-9, 3.17 ERA). MadBum was sensational in his last start, striking out 12 in seven innings of work in the Giants’ 5-3 win against the Chicago Cubs last August 21st.

The Giants are 4-1 in Bumgarner’s last five home starts versus Colorado. Meanwhile, the Rockies, who are 3-0 in their last three games, will counter Bumgarner with Jorge De La Rosa’s (13-8, 4.21 ERA). The Rockies are 4-1 in De La Rosa’s (13-8, 4.21 ERA) last five starts against San Francisco.

Writer’s prediction: The Giants win.
