Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (12:05 PM ET)

Line: Cincinnati Reds (-102) at Pittsburgh Pirates (-112); total: 7.5 – see all MLB lines

Behind an awesome offense that has lit up the scoreboard with 30 runs in their last three games, the Cincinnati Reds are on the verge of a sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Reds are now 6-1 in their last seven games. The Pirates, meanwhile, could prevent Cincinnati from bringing out the brooms, as they are 5-0 in the last five times they’ve faced Reds starter Homer Bailey.

Writer’s prediction: The Reds completes the sweep.

Atlanta Braves vs. Washington Nationals (7:05 PM ET)

Line: Atlanta Braves (+135) vs. Washington Nationals (-150); total: 7.5 – see all MLB lines

[sc:MLB240banner ]The Atlanta Braves can take a step closer to regaining the top seat in the NL East with a win tonight versus the Washington Nationals. The Braves will start Gavin Floyd (1-2, 2.98 ERA), who hasn’t given up an earned run in his last three road starts, two of which the Braves won.

Meanwhile, the Nationals have shaken off a four-game losing streak with back-to-back wins against the Houston Astros. Washington will come into the game later with a 5-0 record in their last five home games.

Writer’s prediction: Atlanta denies Nationals of a win.

Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins (8:10 PM ET)

Fresh off pounding the San Francisco Giants for 15 runs in their recent two-game set, the Chicago White Sox look to sustain their hot offense against the Minnesota Twins. The over is 5-0 in the White Sox’s last five games, while the under is 5-1 in the Twins’ last six games when facing a lefty starter. Chicago will start left-handed Jose Quintana (3-7, 3.98 ERA) tonight.

Writer’s prediction:  The White Sox stay hot, buries Twins.

Two of the hottest NL teams over a 10-game span will face each other later as the Philadelphia Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals kick off their four-game series. The Phillies are 7-3 in their last 10 games, while the Cards have won eight during the same stretch.

The Phillies are also 3-0 in their last three road starts. The Cardinals on the other hand have seen all their last five home games go under the totals.

Writer’s prediction: The Phillies continues surge, beats Cards.

Boston Red Sox vs. Oakland Athletics (10:05 PM ET)

Line: Boston Red Sox (+150) at Oakland Athletics (-170); total: 7.5 – see all MLB lines

The power showed up late, but it came just in time for the Boston Red Sox last night as they pulled off a win to cap off a three-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins via back-to-back homeruns from David Ortiz and Mike Napoli in extra-innings. The Red Sox hope that they’ll be as successful later at Oakland, where they have lost eight of their last 10 trips there.

The Oakland A’s will have Scott Kazmir to start the ball game. Oakland is 3-0 in Kazmir’s last three home starts.

Check out more on this game in our comprehensive preview here.

Writer’s prediction: Kazmir torments Red Sox hitters as A’s win. Will the A’s domination of the Red Sox continue? Create a betting account now and bet on this high-profile matchup.
