Kanas City Royals vs. New York Yankees (7:00 PM ET)
Line: Kanas City Royals (+115) at New York Yankees (-125); total 7.5 – see all MLB lines
[sc:MLB240banner ]After winning the final two games of a three-game set against the Boston Red Sox, the New York Yankees are now 6-1 in their last seven home games. They’ll be in a good position to extend that good run with Michael Pineda on the mound. Pineda has given up two runs or fewer in each of his four starts since returning from the disabled list.
Writer’s Prediction: Pineda and the Yankees top the Royals
San Francisco Giants vs. Detroit Tigers (7:00 PM ET)
Line: San Francisco Giants (+115) at Detroit Tigers (-125); total 8.0 – see all MLB lines
Both the Giants and the Tigers have been banging in the runs of late. The total has topped 10 in five of the Giant’s last six games, helping the over go 4-1-1 in those games. Meanwhile, the Tigers have also knocked in double-digit runs twice in their last four games.
Writer’s Prediction: The total goes over 8.0 runs.

Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins (7:00 PM ET)
Line: Atlanta Braves (+115) at Miami Marlins (-125); total 7.5 – see all MLB lines
Miami’s Jarred Cosart has been dealing in his last four starts. After a shaky first start as a Marlin, Cosart has allowed just two runs in 27.2 innings since, including seven shutout innings last time out at Atlanta. The Marlins, unsurprisingly, are 4-0 in those four starts. Meanwhile, the Braves have lost eight of the last nine games in which tonight’s pitcher, Aaron Harang, has started.
Writer’s Prediction: Cosart cruises to another win over Atlanta.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers (8:00 PM ET)
Line: St. Louis Cardinals (+115) at Milwaukee Brewers (-125); total 8.0 – see all MLB lines
The Cardinals and Brewers continue heading toward different directions. The Cards have now won six straight while the Brewers have dropped nine in a row. Milwaukee’s malaise looks to continue as it goes up against John Lackey. The Cards are 5-1 in Lackey’s six starts since coming to St. Louis, with the veteran giving up just two runs or fewer in five of those six games.
Writer’s Prediction: Lackey and the Cards condemn Milwaukee to a 10th-straight loss.
Houston Astros vs. Oakland Athletics (10:00 PM ET)
Line: Houston Astros (+190) at Oakland Athletics (-220); total 7.5 – see all MLB lines
The Oakland Athletics are stumbling at the final few hurdles, dropping seven of their last 10. Meanwhile, Astros are soaring with five wins out of their last six. But Astros starter Brett Oberholtzer has given up 14 earned runs in his last three starts, while Samardzija has gone eight strong innings each of his last two outings, with just three runs allowed in total.
Writer’s Prediction: The A’s get back to winning ways.
