Top Five Unrestricted Free Agent Guards

1. DeMar DeRozan

Expected Salary: Max

2015-2016 Stats: 23.5 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 4.0 APG

DeRozan is coming off the best season of his career thus far and it came just in time, with him expected to demand a max contract. His perimeter game remains inconsistent but his ability to create his own shots from anywhere on the floor is a quality many teams are looking for in the market.

2. Dwyane Wade

Expected Salary: $18-20 million

2015-2016 Stats: 19.0 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 4.6 APG

Will he join LeBron James in Cleveland? Will he stay put in Miami? Wherever Wade’s next destination will be, the team that will sign him will have a future Hall-of-Famer still capable of putting up All-Star numbers on the roster.

3. Mike Conley

Expected Salary: $12-15 million

2015-2016 Stats: 15.3 PPG, 6.1 APG

There are a lot of teams out there looking for someone to shore up their point guard position. Conley is definitely one of these teams’ top targets despite the former Buckeye playing in just 56 games last season. It’s likely he’ll stay in Memphis but the pay raise Conley is going to ask may just be too much for the Grizzlies to keep him in the fold.

4. Rajon Rondo

Expected Salary: $12-15 million

2015-2016 Stats: 11.9 PPG, 11.7 APG, 6.0 RPG

Rondo and the Kings obviously weren’t for each other. While Rondo compiled cartoonish assists total on an almost daily basis for the Kings last season, Sacramento failed to reach the playoffs and finished with a losing 33-49 record. Rondo could be looking to move one from a testy season with Sacramento to a team where he’s playmaking will matter more than his mediocre shooting and one-on-one defense skills.

5. Kent Bazemore

Expected Salary: $12-15 million

2015-2016 Stats: 11.6 PPG, 5.1 RPG

Bazemore can do a little bit of everything, which makes him an attractive target this summer for clubs looking to strengthen their bench. Well, he can be a starter too for teams with an ideal roster depth. Bazemore is also a versatile piece who can move to small forward position especially when his team is trying to matchup with smaller, faster opponent lineups.
