Betting on the Pittsburgh Panthers (-8.0)
Record: 21-10 Overall/14-6 Conference
The Panthers lost their final two games of the regular season to finish with a 14-6 conference record in the ACC. The good news for them is that that record was good enough to earn them a first-round bye in the ACC tournament, which means they will have fresher legs than the Yellow Jackets this Wednesday. Plus, the Panthers have dominated Georgia Tech in the regular season for two wins. They first defeated Georgia Tech on Jan. 14 at home, 71-60, and then again on Feb. 21 on the road, 76-68. Pittsburgh’s offense is regarded as one of the best in the nation, as it finished the regular season 29th in adjusted offensive rating with 115.1 points per 100 possessions and second in conference play with an AdjO of 112.9.
The Over is 4-1 in Pittsbrugh’s last five games.
Betting on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (+8.0)
Record: 15-17 Overall/6-14 Conference
Georgia Tech remains alive in the ACC tournament after taking down the Florida State Seminoles on Tuesday, 61-60. Mike Kelly led the way for the Yellow Jackets, as he finished with 21 points on 7/15 shooting while Ja’von Franklin came through with a clutch free-throw to seal the deal for Georgia Tech, who has now won all of its last four games. The Yellow Jackets are on a roll and definitely have the momentum advantage over Pittsburgh heading into Wednesday’s matchup. Watch out for the Yellow Jackets’ red-hot shooting from deep. They have drilled at least 11 3-pointers in three of their last four outings, including 18 on 40 attempts in their 96-76 win over the Syracuse Orange late last February.
Georgia Tech is 8-1 against the spread in its last nine games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
Pittsburgh wins, 74-70.
