Betting on the New Orleans Saints (+4.0)

Regular Season Record: 4-8

There’s a chance that the Saints will go for Jameis Winston as their starting quarterback for at least the rematch against Tampa Bay. Winston was under center for New Orleans in its 20-10 Week 2 home loss to the Buccaneers, but he was a disaster in that contest. New Orleans, however, didn’t have star running back Alvin Kamara in that contest because of a rib injury. Kamara is ready to go this coming Monday, so he’ll be one explosive weapon who can help the Saints move the chains against Tampa Bay’s defense which isn’t really good against the run (20th in the NFL).

The Saints are 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games versus Tampa Bay.

Betting on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-4.0)

Regular Season Record: 5-6

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers have some bitter taste in their mouth to get rid of, as they are coming off a 23-17 overtime loss on the road to the Cleveland Browns last Sunday. Brady passed for 246 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions, but he was also sacked three times and only went 29/43. Still, he is clearly the better quarterback than whoever the Saints start on Monday. Winston had a QB rating of 9.8 in the first meeting with the Bucs, throwing a touchdown with three interceptions while also getting sacked six times for a loss of 28 yards. The Buccaneers’ run defense may be a question mark, but overall, they are allowing just 18.5 points per game. They are so good at getting to the quarterback (3rd in defensive QB sack rate).

The Under is 6-1 in the Buccaneers’ last seven games overall.
