Betting on the New York Giants (+5.0)
Regular Season Record: 7-5-1
The Giants are winless in four games. In their most recent outing, they got crushed by the Philadelphia Eagles, 48-22, at home in Week 14. The Eagles are simply a different animal this season, and most other teams would have also suffered the same fate as the Giants in that game. The Commanders are a much more favorable matchup for the Giants, who are averaging 20.5 points per game – good for 20th this season. When they drew with Washington 20-20 at home back in Week 13, the Giants saw quarterback Daniel Jones pass for 200 yards and a touchdown on 25/31 completions, while also rushing for 71 yards on 12 carries. Jones’s ability to make things happen with his legs can’t be overlooked against Washington’s defense which is allowing 4.4 yards per carry.
The Giants are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games.
Betting on the Washington Commanders (+5.0)
Regular Season Record: 7-5-1
The Commanders are well-rested heading into Week 15’s showdown against New York. They are coming off a bye in Week 14. Not only that, but the Commanders also did not need to travel away from home for this game, which is a plus for Washington, which is 6-1-1 against the spread in their last eight games overall. Taylor Heinicke remains the starter under center for the Commanders. In the loss to the Giants, Heinicke passed for 275 yards and two touchdowns without an interception on 27/41 completions. Washington has a deeper backfield than New York, too, with Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson expected to team up and outweigh Saquon Barkley’s influence in the rematch.
The Under is 8-2-1 in the Commanders’ last 11 games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Giants win, 23-20.
