The Jets are expected to go back to starting Mike White in Week 17, and for most New York fans, that’s news straight from heaven. Zach Wilson was horrendous in the Jets’ 19-3 home loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, so he will have to be benched in this all-important game for New York, which can continue counting on its defense. The Jets are fourth in the NFL with 18.8 points allowed per game and third with just 309.3 total yards surrendered per contest, so far this season. They could also be catching the Seahawks at just the right time, with Seattle’s offense not looking good of late.
The Jets are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games after a loss.
The Seahawks are the only team remaining in the NFC West that has neither been eliminated from nor clinched a spot in the playoffs. They plan to stay alive in the hunt for a postseason spot when they take on the struggling Jets at home this coming Sunday. Seattle is coming off a brutal 24-10 road loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but hey, that’s Kansas City. This time, the Seahawks will be dealing with a Jets team with an anemic offense and a stout defense that Geno Smith and company could still hurt. Seattle is ninth in the NFL with 24.3 points per game and No. 1 overall with a pass completion percentage of 70.57.
The Seahawks are 4-0 against the spread in their last four meeting with the Jets.
