[sc:Football ]Top 10 NFL Fantasy Tight End Sleepers for 2015-16
10. Eric Ebron (Detroit Lions)
[sc:NFL240banner ]Eric Ebron is flying under the radar in the Detroit Lions offense with Golden Tate and Calvin Johnson being two incredible playmakers for quarterback Matthew Stafford. Ebron was the 10th overall pick of the draft last year; the Lions wouldn’t have picked him if they didn’t believe he had the potential to join Tate and Johnson as a devastating playmaker. Ebron has been working hard with Stafford this offseason, so expect him to put in much more production than his 248-yard outing last season in his sophomore year.
9. Tyler Eifert (Cincinnati Bengals)
Tyler Eifert had a solid rookie season in 2013, catching 39 passes for 445 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, an elbow injury limited him to just one game in 2014 putting his potential on the shelf. Eifert is now healthy and raring to take the football field. He’ll be the Bengals’ No. 1 option at tight end with the size and speed to be a legit red zone target for quarterback Andy Dalton.
8. Richard Rodgers (Green Bay Packers)
Richard Rodgers broke out last year catching the game-winning touchdown in the Green Bay Packers’ NFC Divisional Playoff victory over Dallas. Rodgers also had a serviceable regular season with 225 receiving yards and two touchdowns in limited playing time. Considering Andrew Quarless’ off-field issues, expect Rodgers to take big strides as the Packers’ No. 1 tight end.
7. Maxx Williams (Baltimore Ravens)
With the departure of Owen Daniels, the Baltimore Ravens were in need of a new tight end for this season. Enter Maxx Williams, selected in the second round of this year’s draft. Williams has good size and speed to help him get past defenses. He’s primarily a pass-catching tight end, so his time on the field won’t be wasted blocking defenders. He racked up 986 yards and 13 touchdowns in his two years playing for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
6. Jace Amaro (New York Jets)
Jace Amaro was a popular sleeper as a rookie last season. But he couldn’t perform consistently with the Jets’ horrendous passing game with Geno Smith or Mike Vick. The arrival of Brandon Marshall gives the Jets another weapon to put alongside Eric Decker. Having Decker and Marshall as deep threat receivers should help open up short to intermediate passes to Amaro, who caught 38 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns last season.
5. Owen Daniels (Denver Broncos)
Owen Daniels is making the move from Baltimore to Denver, but his game probably won’t suffer from the change in location. He’ll be under new Broncos coach Gary Kubiak, who he’s played for his entire 10-year career. Daniels will also have the benefit of catching passes from none other than Peyton Manning. The Broncos quarterback loves his tight ends, most recently connecting with Julius Thomas (who departed for Jacksonville) for 12 touchdowns last season.
4. Josh Hill (New Orleans Saints)
Josh Hill now occupies the No. 1 tight end spot in New Orleans after Jimmy Graham was shipped over to Seattle during the offseason. Hill only had 14 catches last season, but five of those resulted in touchdowns. He’ll have the benefit of playing for the Saints, who rely a lot on their tight ends. The Saints also have a stellar quarterback in Drew Brees, who has a cannon of an arm that’s responsible for throwing over 30 touchdowns in each of the past seven seasons.
3. Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys)
A lifelong Cowboy, Jason Witten has the potential to explode for plenty of yardage and a handful of touchdowns this season. Dallas lost running back DeMarco Murray, which means opposing defenses will shift their focus to wide receiver Dez Bryant. Expect Witten to improve on his 703-yard, five-touchdown from last season. At his best, Witten can explode for a 1,000-yard season doing so four times in his 13-year career.
2. Delanie Walker (Tennessee Titans)
The Tennessee Titans have two solid young wide receivers in Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter. But Delanie Walker could very much explode for a big season with a potential franchise player in rookie quarterback Marucs Mariota under center. Walker led his team with 890 yards and four touchdowns last season. While Mariota may endure some growing pains, expect Walker to help ease him into the pros as a go-to weapon.
1. Jordan Cameron (Miami Dolphins)
Jordan Cameron was a reliable tight end for the Cleveland Browns in 2013, finishing the season with 917 yards and seven touchdowns. He was due for another big season in 2014, but multiple concussions slowed his momentum. Cameron enjoyed plenty of success with quarterbacks such as Brian Hoyer and Brandon Weeden (both aren’t exactly franchise quarterbacks). He should be able to have another big year with Ryan Tannehill throwing him the ball in Miami.
